Who we are?

CIM Onlus, founded in 2011 by a multi-professional team, is a social cooperative (according to Italian legislation) which operates in different fields such as: international cooperation, consultancy migration desks, study and research, socio-work inclusion, laboratories in school focused on various subjects and
responsible tourism.CIM carries out international cooperation projects in agro-ecology, sustainable development, education, women and youth empowerment, health andmigratrion. These activities are carried out in close collaboration with members of the diaspora to create opportunities for co-development and guarantee adignified life for communities in their countries of origin. The activities are carried out abroad in partnership with NGOs, Associations, Cooperatives, LocalAuthorities, Schools, Universities and Research Institutes in Italy and in the countries of intervention. These working methods allow the consolidation ofinternational networks.

In Senegal, CIM has been active since 2011 with capacity building projects focused on women and youth empowerment, agricultural training, educationalprojects centered on the contrast to scholar dispersion, permaculture and business creation projects for women and young people. Furthermore, in Senegalwe have managed information desks for job orientation and on the risks of irregular migration and awareness campaigns in projects of the Ministry of theInterior co-financed by the European Community from 2017 to 2022. The intervention areas are the regions of Dakar, Kaffrine and Kaolack, in particular thedepartments of Kaffrine and Malem Hodar. Other areas of interest are Louga, Saint Louis and Matam, where CIM has established partnerships with localinstitutions and associations.

In Gambia, CIM has established CIM Gambia, in 2018, a charity organization in collaboration with the Gambian Returnees from Backway Association and theNational Youth and Associates for Food Security (NaYAFS) Association. The priority of the organization is to support migrants who are returned to Gambiaand young Gambians in starting agricultural income-generating activities. The headquarter of CIM Gambia is in Tanji.

In Ivory Coast, Albania and Gambia, CIM from 2019 to 2023, through the FAMI-TRAIETTORIE project, trained 350 young people on migration legislation inorder to promote and consolidate regular migration.

In Morocco CIM is in convention with the University of Khouribga, which is an institution that has six offices in all the migration entry points in Morocco. Thisorganization welcomes refugees and gives them job orientation in order to combat irregular migration.

In Cameroon CIM will follows a project of the Ministry of the Interior which has just been approved with the purpose to raise awareness on the risks of irregular migration.

In Italy, CIM manages consultancy desks for companies and foreign workers on migration legislation, in agreement with trade associations.
Throug its Study and Research Center, CIM carries out sociological and anthropological research in Italy and abroad, in the issues of migration, socio-labor
inclusion, health and social innovation.

CIM supports the socio-work inclusion of citizens in disadvantaged conditions (such as asylum seekers, vulnerable people etc.) through orientation courses,
skills assessment and tutoring of international internships.
CIM started a process of planning and developing a branch dedicated to Responsible Tourism and environment with the aim of activating it both abroad and
locally by 2025.
